Propagation  still poor on 20m.  Some improvement on 80m.  K=1,  A=1,  Flux=70.

0630z - 0730z  Europe - Anzo Net on 14,293 Long Path.
I got a thin contact with Klaus 3/3.and a whisper from Henk VK2GWK. Many thanks to Bill VK4ZD for this report !

"Hi Bill
Last night we had mixed luck on the net.
Shortly after 0630z I heard Peter VK3KCD calling.
Immediately after, Teru san JM2HBO was there calling cq.
Next, Henk VK2GWK called in.
Non-Rotarians that called in were VK6BJ Noel, a KH7 from Hawaii (sorry, log sheet is still at the shack on the block) and another VK2.
Henk was able to have a number of short qso's with Klaus HB9CQS but I could not copy him.
After 0730z VK4HAL Rod from Bundaberg called in and Henk was able to hear him easily.
Teru was unable hear any Europeans either on the short path or the long path.
VK3DNE Norm also called in briefly just as we were about to close the net.
Teru san advises that he will not be on the net next weekend as he is going with a large contingent of Rotarians to Seoul, South Korea.
Teru's Rotary Club (in Komaki City) is 40 strong and the group travelling to Seoul will consist of 18 Rotarians and 3 XYL's.
These last 3 weekends have been very busy for Diane and me.
We have had an excellent District 9630 conference followed by the WPX Contest and this last weekend I had training for the next year as
Assistant Governor on Saturday followed by attendance at the President Elects Training Seminar (PETS) on Sunday.
Lets hope the sunspots start again really soon. :)

0800z - 0900z  UK 80-metre Net on 3,695.
G3LUW Brian in charge from Devon.  Supported by:-
G4WRU Mike (with a big signal from a new antenna), G3JJR John,
G0PCF Bruce, G0MMO Norman, G0SQH Derek, G0JWE Don,
G2FUU Tommy, G4MVO Jim, M0BDI Ralph and G4YZE Bill.
Much talk about the RI Convention station at Birmingham.
Decided that an internet-linked remote station is the only practical solution for DX.
The system operated by Stan W4MQ seems suitable.  See www.w4mq.com
G3JJR John visited the Wythall Radio Club on Tuesday. They are very helpful.
Suggested it might be cheaper to link the remote station via a dongle into the lap-top through a mobile phone network.
In addition, have of a live station which could give some radiation South-Eastwards from a car-supported vertical.

Messages Received.
From G3LUW Brian by telephone:-
Our Regional Vice President Mike G8LES visited Southern Brazil, near Porto Alegre, last week with
the District International Chairman to film distress conditions there for a Rotary 3-H project.
They were taken out in a 20 foot metal boat by a local boatman. The boat hit an obstruction,
turned over and sank.  They had a ten minute swim in a polluted river before reaching shore.
Mike lost his camera equipment and some film but he is back home and says he feels alright.
We wish him well !
