22.00 hours
Dear Bill:
The day is almost gone. The last few days after our return, I have been plagued with very painful lumbago.
Could not go to the radio, nor go to Church. Helmi went alone.
Our trip started Tuesday 20 May. We stayed over in Ottawa (our Capital) and saw the masses of tulips that the
Netherlands Government and the House of Orange send every year to Canada. War nostalgia.
Then to Picton on Edward Island on Lake Ontario. Then to St. Jacobs near Kingston where the Mennonites live.
Very interesting and colourful. Then to a small harbour on Lake Erie. Then to Chatham Ontario where my first wife and my son are buried.
Then to Windsor (opposite Detroit) to visit family. Followed by Detroit, along lake Erie to Cleveland (Ohio) visiting an old High school friend.
On to Pennsylvania, through the State of New York to Southern Vermont and finally north back to Montreal.
Arrived here June 4. Best regards, Coos VE2GTI
