From John EA/G4HMG/p

Hi Bill,
First the good news.
We have reached the stage where we are having our first lunch party tomorrow for Diana's Cousin Carol and Hugh.
We are more or less organised in the house and have the new car, a Toyota.
Next the bad news.
Although I am hearing stations from the UK nobody seems to copy me and the bracket for the vertical on the bus has broken.
I am ordering a new bracket which may help. The current wire aerial seems worse than usless where I have it at the moment.
I am hoping when Mike G8LES visits we can cobble something up which will work. I am about to order a multiband vertical from
Martin Lynch which should help. I have considered a Mini beam but it would be between our neighbours and their view down to
the coast so am reluctant to rock the boat.
In the present situation I am not likely to be heard on the nets for a while but may have a try if conditions are good.
Please pass my greetings to all on the International and local nets.
Best wishes to all,
Diana and John
