Roar Nets September 16 2007

Propagation still weak this day.  K=1 A=4 Flux=68.

0630z - 0730z  Europe - Anzo net on 14,293 Long Path.
I was up early and got a contact with UX4UA Nick in Kiev, first in a long time.
He was 4/3 at 0630z and up to steady 5/9 by 0713z.
He had worked Henk VK2GWK 5/9 a little earlier !
I also got John EA/G4HMG/p at 0647z and Pertti EA7GSU at 0700z,
both 5/9 here though they could not hear each other.
I still had no detectable signals from the VK stations.  Keep trying !

Again thanks to Klaus HB9CQS for the following report : -
Greetings Bill,
As on several other Sunday mornings I started at 07:00z because the band has been dead before then. Not on this Sunday morning.
When I called CQ RI net at 07:00z, I learned that it is again possible to work Australia in the morning and - equally important -
that I was on the point of being too late for working VK2. In the future I will do my best to be there at 06:30z.
07:00z  UX4UA, Nick. 59+10 from the back of my beam. Nice to hear Nick again. Nick had no copy on Spain and UK. .
07:00z  VK2GWK, Henk. 56 here, got 54. Nick had been peaking 58 in Nelson Bay earlier, but was fading out now.
07:07z  EA7GSU, Pertti. Henk worked Pertti, but I had absolutely no copy on Pertti and Henk was slowly fading out.
07:14z  EA5/G4HMG, John, tried to call me, I was told, but unfortunately only noise heard here.
07:14z  G4YZE, Bill. No copy for a start. Later peaking at 44. Got 55.
07:16z  G0JWE, Don. No copy.
07:25z  Went QRT
    73 Klaus, HB9CQS

(Exactly one month after a triple by-pass operation)
Well done John !
Ten on the net in very noisy conditions.

1130z - 1230z  International Net on 14,293
1130z - W1QUO Jim from Leominster MA up to his "normal" 5/9+20
1130z - VE2GTI Coos from Montreal 5/9+10
1130z - SM4CSF Nils from Falun 5/7
1130z - G3JJR John from Wolverhampton 1/1 here but Jim got him well.
1130z - PA2X Cees from Bussum 1/1 here. Again Jim had a good signal.
1147z - SM3EXM Erik from Sundsvall 5/6
1155z - YV5CPT Reinhard from Caracas 5/5.  First for a long time !
1155z - HB9CQS Klaus from Sachseln only 2/2 now.but Jim got him 4/4 "in the noise"
1204z - W0TBC Joe from Stillwater MN 5/6 here. Could only stay 2 mins. "73 all, off to church!"
1206z - LA3XT Per from Trondheim 5/6. Looking for his friend Joe.  (Stay longer next time Joe !)
1211z - G0JWE Don from Derby 1/1 here, got 4/4 from Jim.
N.B. For Coos's information : - Erik SM3EXM is in the old Roar directory.
He should be back in the next directory having got his payment method worked out by Cees and Treasurer Bob.

1800z - 1900z  UK evening 80-metre net on 3,693.
Ten on the net in fair conditions.
EA/G4HMG John phoned from Spain right after this net to report he had copied
GW4KVJ, G0JWE, G2FUU, G0MMO, G0SQH and me quite well
and the others with "some copy".  This on his small vertical antenna.
