Greetings Bill
I was sorry to hear that you are going to hospital for some days starting tomorrow . I wish you a complete and speedy recovery!
In case you should be in the mood for writing the weekly report beforehand, here it comes.
However, I am certain that under the circumstances, you will be allowed to miss this one:

06:36z  EA7GSU, Pertti, 55 here while Pertti beamed towards VK-land. 59 after Pertti turned the beam towards north.
06:38z  VK2GWK, Henk, 59 / 59 for a start, dropping to 57. Henk worked Pertti, but had no copy later on Brian, G3LUW.
06:42z  G3LUW, Brian, 59 here for a start, quickly dropping to 55 and occasionally even below that.
06:42z  G4HMG, John. Not readable for a start. Later improving, especially after John turned the beam towards S.
06:58z  YO9BC, Coco. 55-57 here. Still using the old beam. The new beam is a huge thing and Coco's assistance did not turn up.
07:20z  G4YZE, Bill. With the right antenna 56 here. Bill is going into hospital on Monday. We all wish you well, Bill.
07:25z  Net closed
You are of course free to edit my note on your hospitalization, but I felt that everyone should know.

0800z - 0900z  UK 80-metre net on 3,693.
G3LUW Brian from Devon in control.
Sixteen on the net in rather bad conditions.

1130z - 1230z  International net on 14,293.
1130z - W1QUO Jim from Leominster MA 5/5 to 5/9
1130z - G4HMG John from Devon 2/1 at best
1135z - VE2GTI Coos from Montreal 5/6
1145z - VO1NP Nate from St.John's NF 1/1 at first up to 4/3 by 1210z.
1147z - PA2X Cees from Bussum 1/1 here but Jim gave 5/7
1157z - W0TBC Joe from Stillwater MN 1/1 here
1213z - SM4CSF Nils from Falun 5/7
1228z - HB9CQS Klaus from Sachseln 5/9
1240z -  Net ended. Rather difficult in marginal conditions.
Jim had it very cool about 7c and much rain, six inches in the last 8 days.
Coos had 11c and sunny. Very strong winds. His club hosted a district
Foundation convention, raising $39,000 for Rotary Foundation.
The incoming President of RI  Wilf Wilkinson is a Canadian and good friend of Coos.
Nate reported his club had a speaker, Marsha Cook from Salisbury Wilts
telling them about the charity "Hope and Homes for Children" She was well received.
Cees and Nils had a good chat, a little of it in Swedish - not enough to confuse us.
Unfortunately I can never hear Cees but he is obviously doing a great job in Cenaem.
Klaus also got good copy on Nils but nothing on Cees.

1800z - 1900z  UK evening 80-metre net on 3,695
Six on the net in very noisy conditions. We were glad to welcome MM0WPM Bill from Aviemore
for the first time.  Bill is a Rotarian of 35 years standing and a member of Spey Valley R.C.

From Cees PA2X
Dear ROAR fellows,
Most of my Rotary Club Bussum members know I'm a radio-amateur and ROAR member.
I've had the request several times to explain a bit more about ROAR, it's history and involvements.
I'm happy to do this. Is there anyone who can supply some more information/background/history of ROAR.
Is there an existing (powerpoint) presentation or info-sheet which I can use in my club and perhaps also use
to promote ROAR in a broader area (CENAEM) ? If this info is available... may it also can be incorporated in our web-site.

Regards

Cees Jan van Mourik - PA2X
