I did not get much on this net. Thanks to Klaus for the following
report.
Greetings Bill
Pertti, EA7GSU, had already closed down when I started. My own fault
since I was late. As usual no ANZO staqtions.
It cannot be done at the moment, but we had a good European
net. Here is my log:
06:50z G4HMG, John. 44 for a start, but great improvement after
John gave up calling ANZO and turned the beam.
07:06z G4JVW, Bill, from Barnstable. 57 here.
07:17z GW4KVJ, John. 58 here. Not readable in Devon.
07:23z OH1TG, Paavo. 54 here. 20 C and thunderstorms.
07:34z G4YZE, Bill. 59/59. Bill is making good progress, but not
yet ready to throw away the sticks
07:49z Net closed down.
Our club celebrated its 50 years anniversary on this Sunday noon
and afternoon. Our governor was attending together with the
presidents of our
friendship club Solingen in Germany and several neighbouring
clubs. Three of our founding fathers are still members, but only
one was able to attend.
As regards VK2-land, I
can confirm that I worked VK2BLZ, Len, on Sunday evening at 21:45z
to 22:10z. Never below 57.

From President John reporting to Noel and Bob on the Salt Lake City
meeting.
Dear Noel and Bob,
We have returned from the RI convention in Salt Lake City, UT. We
certainly missed the two of you. If my opinion counts, it was very
successful.
We had 56 guests sign the book this year with an estimated overall
attendance of 16,500. Compared to 85 in Chicago with almost 40,000
attending.
Several members visited and worked W7R which had around 400 contacts.
The Log is in the mail to me. I took a bunch of photos of those
visiting
the booth and will send them to Bill Main for the Communicator and
website.
Just to let you know that we have 6 new members (paid) and 3 renewals.
Money and applications will be forthcoming. I need to update my file,
correct
some addresses (directory were incorrect) and then pass them along. We
had a great meeting (KI6DCD took the minutes) having 23 or so members in
attendance. Roster attached. We then took a tour of the McCune Mansion
where the meeting and dinner was, 28 attended dinner.
Also attached is the memoriam for Laszlo which was on the table in the
booth.
New members, W4BGG, KA6WYW, W8RQE, LY3GK, KI6IYU, W8KYZ
Renewal, VE6BF, K9OWU, KD7WSY
One of our own (KJ6DU, Kermit Floyd) is responsible for the floor layout
for the RI Conv. in Los Angeles next year. He promised he would take
care of ROAR.
There was a very strong rumor, no one denied it, the 2009 convention is
switching from Seoul, Korea to Birmingham, England. The Rotary web site
is showing
the location for the 2009 convention as tentative. It should be
formalized shortly as it affects so many plans.
