Roar Nets September 17 2006
Propagation very variable. K=1, Flux=79.
0630z - 0730z Europe - Anzo net on 14,293
Long Path.
I listened for the hour in noise decreasing from
S7 to S3 at the end.
Many thanks to Henk for the following report.
: -
Dear Bill,
Poor conditions this morning on 20M (although I had S9 QSO’s
on 30M into EU)
This side were on VK4ZD/P, Bill from his block of land ,
sitting in the car with the mobile rig (and Diana) and also Peter, VK3KCD.
Between 06:30 and 07:00 UTC we heard PA0SDZ, Les peaking 54.
We had a good QSO and so had Peter Vk3KCD.
Later we were joined by HB9CQS. Klaus had to leave early
because of a brunch meeting with his friendship club from Solingen (DL).
Klaus worked Peter but had no copy on Bill. After Klaus left Coco called
YO9BC. However, he had problems copying me and did not hear any of the
others.
I think Brian G3LUW was on and also Laszlo. About 07:00 I
heard DK1II, Franz 52, working Laszlo but I had no copy on Laszlo.
Franz did not come back to my call.
That’s it for today Bill. Hopefully better next week.
Best regards Henk – VK2GWK
And to Peter for his further report : -
Dear Bill
Thought I would touch base now I have returned
from my trip to the high Arctic. Conditions are somewhat improved and last
week, the 10th, heard Brian G3LUW at 3x3 and yourself at 4x3 but I note you
heard very little of me. Below is an extract from my log for yesterdays net.
0627 VK2GWK 5x6
0636 HB9CQS 5x7 peaking S9
0636 PA0SDZ 5x6 and remained audible until 0700
0643 VK4ZD 1x1 but no contact
0647 YO9BC 5x7 but no contact
0649 DK1II 5x7 but no contact
I went QRT just after 0700 and heard nothing of
any G stations. It was commented how often we have good signals from Europe
and are not heard but having experienced the QRN in Copenhagen I think we
have a difficult job to get through.
Otherwise not much news from here we are of
course hoping for some rain but our developing indigenous garden is
surviving the dry condition quite well which is what is supposed to happen.

A summary of recent Anzo nets from Les PA0SDZ
Hello Bill,
Considering my QSO's with Australia over
last weeks I think the best time for contacts is at the beginning of the
Anzo-net.
3/9 06.33-VK2GWK Henk, 5/3 here, gave me
4/2
06.36-VK4ZD Bill, 3/1 here, didn't
copy me
06.46 VK5CV Bill, 5/4 here, gave me
5/4
06.50 EA7GSU Pertti, gave VK2
5/5-5/9 QSB
07.00 Australians disappeared here
although at
07.23 CT/AD6XX Laszlo, had QSO with
VK2GWK
10/9 06.38 VK3KCD Peter, 5/5 here, gave me
4/4
07.14 VK5CV Bill, 5/5 here, gave me
4/2
07.17 VK2GWK Henk heard me 4.1
Then Australians disappeared
17/9 06.36 VK2GWK Henk, 5/4 here, gave me
5/3
06.40 VK4ZD/p Bill, very weak,
couldn't make QSO
06.50 VK3KCD Peter, 5/4 here, gave
me 5/6
After 06.50 I didn't hear Australians
anymore. Looks like we have to wake up early when wintertime comes
again.
I am sorry not to be able to join the net
next sunday. 73 Leslie PA0SDZ
