Roar Nets October 8 2006

Propagation much better this day.  K=1, Flux=77.

0630z - 0730z  Europe - Anzo net on 14,293 Long Path.

Thanks to Klaus HB9CQS for the following report : -

Greetings Bill,
Very fine conditions to VK4 and VK2 this morning, but European signals were not readable here until after 0700z when the skip allowed
me to work CT and EA. UK stations were too close. The report below is not complete. I heard a station being worked, but could not copy
the call sign and never found out who it was.

0635z  VK4ZD/P, Bill. 57 from Lockyer Waters, taking part with Diane in Oceania DX contest. 400 watts, 2 element beam. Fine signal.
0641z  VK4WIL, Bill. Sent 59001, received 59 596. Several QSOs on 10 metres during the contest. Also some Europeans on 40 and 80.
0703z  EA6/M0BDI, Ralph. 100 watts and dipole. Workable from Queensland, but not from HB9.
0711z  VK2BLZ, Len, 57 / 57. An old friend living near Coff's Harbour. 400 watts, 3 element beam. Good location.
0713z  CT/G4HMG, John. 59+ / 59+. QTH near Porto. Window leaking, some wet bed clothes, but enjoying the trip. ETA UK October 24.
0732z  EA5ALK, David. Signals varying, 44-59. Amazing signal from David's balcony antenna.
0740z  G4YZE, Bill. Never above 44. Pointing my beam towards NW made things worse. I probably got Bill on back-scatter.
0742z  VK4ZD/P, Bill back on frequency and able to work G4YZE and others.
0754z  CT/G4MVV, Diana. 55 here, but our net controller was unable to read Diane.
0800z  VK4KYL/P, Diane. 57 Steady good signals from Bill and Diane. Up to 59 shortly before net closed.
0806z  CT1BJZ, Vitor. 59+15 here. Got 59+. Vitor also worked VK4ZD/P.
0825z  Net closed.

Kind regards   Klaus, HB9CQS

From Cees PA2X along with a lovely musical "CQ Serenade" .
File too big to include but ask if you want it.

Dear Bill,
It's was great to be able to participate in ROAR Net, after such a long time. Splendid conditions from The Netherlands.
Catch you all guys soon again I hope. See MP3 attachment, a nice song called 'CQ Serenade', which gives you the ultimate 'ROAR feeling'.

Regards and 73 from The Netherlands
