Dad and Grandparents ecstatic. (See Messages Received).
We have a new e-mail address for Ray DU/G4UNL,  it is   marieg0wwz@philwebinc.com

Thanks to Klaus for the following report.
Greetings Bill,
For once Switzerland was not the right place for a QSO with VK-land. I am glad that stations north of us had more luck.
08:02z  CT/AD6XX Laszlo 59/59 initially, later varying between 44 and 59. Laszlo still using R5 Cushcraft and 100 W.
08:15z  G4HMG John. At best 54 here. It took until 08:40z before John and Laszlo managed to establish contact.
08:47z  G4YZE  Bill. 55/55 for a start, fading to 44 and 33. Probably back scatter.
08:58z  OH6SM Martti. 57/57 beaming VK l/p. Heard Marty work VK, Gs and CT. No VKs heard here, l/p or s/p.
Kept listening, but nothing doing after 09:00.
09:30 sent 73 to Martti and went QRT.   73   Klaus, HB9CQS

1324z - M2WBK ?? 1/1 here  but Nick gave 5/8
1339z - Net ended.  A very lively net despite variable reception all round.
Several first-time contacts exchanged reports.
Bert had minus 10 but no snow. unusually mild for January. Is it due to
Global Warming and changes in the route of the Gulf Stream ?  (I hope not Bert!)
Nate had thick fog. He says "you fellows who have rain in winter are lucky.
you don't have to shovel it up."
Nils had sunshine and plus 2c in Falun.
Great to hear LA5JB Toré Bremstad on the air again, though not very loud here.
Toré has been busy with other activities but iIntends to be at Copenhagen.

1900z - 2000z  UK evening 80-metre net on 3,693.
John G4HMG in Control from Clayhidon.

From Bill VK4ZD.on Friday morning.
Hi All
Just a quick  note to let u know that Rivkah & Tristian's impatient son arrived 3 weeks ahead of schedule
this morning at 5.25am W.A. Time after a very quick 3 hour labour. His name is Archer Erik and he was
1.6kg or about 3.5pounds. All perfect just a tiny baby.  Mum & Bub doing very well.. Dad shellshocked!
Grandparents ecstatic. :)
Best wishes
Bill & Di Main

From Peter Lowe VK3KCD.
Dear Bill
Most variable propagation yesterday. Heard Klaus HB9CQS at 0803 calling CQ and then in contact with
Laszlo CT/AD6DX and John G4HMG neither of whom were audible here. Klaus peaked at 5x7 briefly at
0810 and the disappeared completely. Had good signals from Bill VK4ZD and Henk VK2GWK and heard
Bill VK5CV 5X5 from time to time on back scatter. Roy DU9/G4UNL was a good signal Q5 and S 5-7 and
he heard me at 0805 but we did not work until much later.
At about 0925 heard Marti OH6SM on the short path reaching 5x3 at 0933 at which time I had to QRT.
I heard you at about 2x2 just before I heard Marti so no useful propagation into the UK from here. The short
path is not too good from this QTH as I have a long ridge in that direction raising my angle of radiation.
( It is in fact called "Main Ridge"!)
Congratulations to Bill and Diane on their first grandchild.
73,   YIR Peter VK3KCD
