Propagation good but horrendous qrm from the World-Wide SSB contest.
0730z - 0830z Europe - Anzo Net on 14,293 Long Path.
Wiped out by contesters all S9+20 until 0755z when I heard VK4ZD.
0755z - VK4ZD Bill from Gatton peaking 5/9 and reading me well through the
crud.
0755z - HB9CQS Klaus from Sachseln 4/9 in qrm
0755z - G4HMG John from Devon 2/4 here.
0833z - Net ended. Reception through the strong qrm was quite remarkable
and things should be good if it is the same next week, minus the contesters
!
Bill VK4ZD and family all well. Not yet started on his new house. Got 70
mms
of rain in the past week and that is good.
Bill and Diane are going to a family party in Brisbane next weekend.
He may not be home in time for the net. If not he will try mobile from the
highway.
0900z - 1000z UK 80-metre net on 3,692
John G4HMG in charge in lieu of Brian G3LUW whose
antenna was blown down by a severe gale last night.
1230z - 1330z International net on 14,293.
1230z - Jim W1QUO from Leominster MA. 3-4/9+ in qrm
1240z - SM4CSF Nils from Falun 5/9 riding over the qrm.
1246z - Net ended - or abandoned due to qrm from the contesters.
It was rough. Better luck next week !
1900z - 2000z UK evening 80-metre net on 3,706.
Eight on the net in very noisy conditions, the contesters
having moved to 80 metres to keep us company !
