Starting at 0630z, I called CQ RI net at intervals of abt. 3 minutes. Here are the resulting QSOs:
0635z: OZ5CK, Karl, 55 => 33. Karl (Karoly) fled Hungary 1956. Knows our chairman, Laszlo.

Encouraging since it showed that HB9 - VK should be possible. It wasn''t.
0656z: Heard VK5CV, Bill, 33. Answered Bill, but did not hear him come back.
0719z: Heard somebody calling CQ RI net, but unable to copy call sign.
0724z: G4YZE, Bill. Occasionally 57, but more often 43. Got 56 from Bill at one time.
We both tried to raise VK5CV, but no reply. Lost our net controller during his efforts to work into EA5 and EA7.
0735z: Stopped trying to work the net. Kind regards   Klaus, HB9CQS"-----------------------
