Propagation poor.  K=3,  Solar Flux =72.
 
0630z - 0730z  Europe - Anzo Net on 14,293 Long Path.
I listened from 0630z. Only space noise S6-8 from SW until 0720z.
0720z - HB9CQS Klaus from Sachseln 4/5. See Klaus's report below.
0728z - EA7GSU Pertti from Genalguacil, Malaga.  5/9
0735z - G0JWE Don from Derby 1/1 here, got 5/4 from Pertti.
0735z - F/G4HMH/p John from Hossegor 10miles North of Biarritz.
0757z - Net ended.

Starting at 0630z, I called CQ RI net at intervals of abt. 3 minutes. Here are the resulting QSOs:
0635z: OZ5CK, Karl, 55 => 33. Karl (Karoly) fled Hungary 1956. Knows our chairman, Laszlo.
0637z: VK2BLZ, Len, 56 / 56. Len is my regular Monday - Friday QSO partner.
Lives near Coffs Harbour, halfways between Sydney and Brisbane.
Encouraging since it showed that HB9 - VK should be possible. It wasn''t.
0656z: Heard VK5CV, Bill, 33. Answered Bill, but did not hear him come back.
0719z: Heard somebody calling CQ RI net, but unable to copy call sign.
0724z: G4YZE, Bill. Occasionally 57, but more often 43. Got 56 from Bill at one time. 
We both tried to raise VK5CV, but no reply. Lost our net controller during his efforts to work into EA5 and EA7.

Pertti EA7GSU had a very good club visit to Ceuta helping a local childrens home.
Weather cooler, 13c at night but 30c in day-time. Still serious drought affecting chestnut crop.
John F/G4HMG/p had a great trip, Only two wet days in seven weeks. His XYL Diana/G4MVV
joined him in wishing all the best to all members. They are due home on October 11.
 
0800z - 0900z  UK 80-metre net on 3,692.
Tony G4FTA/p in charge from Pickering, Yorkshire.
Fifteen on the net in rather difficult conditions.
 
1130z - 1230z  International Net on 14,293.
1130z - W1QUO Jim from Leominster MA 5/6 at best down to 3/3.at times.
1130z - VE2GTI Coos from Montreal 3/5 in noise.
1130z - VO1NP 1/1 here but Jim heard him briefly - just.
1140z - CT1BJZ Vitor from Ordivelas 5/7 here, and with Jim.
1146z - HB9CQS Klaus from Sachseln 5/7
1146z - F/G4HMG/p John from Hossegor 2/1 here, got 5/8 from Jim.
1155z - EA7GSU Pertti from Genalguacil 5/6
1155z - LA5JB Tore from Hamar 5/9. Back after 2 weeks holiday.
1155z - G0JWE Don from Derby 1/1 here. Got 5/7 from Pertti..
1224z - Net ended.  Transatlantic propagation poor at first, dismal. later.
Jim had fitful reception but held in there to the end. He reported a "nice fall day with 10c".
Coos heard nothing after our first exchange. (See later message from Coos.)
He had 11c going up to 24c later. Trees not yet changing colour. 
Vitor CT1BJZ reported conditions much better than last Sunday.
He had 28c. Still no rain and great problems with lack of water.
Klaus reported railways running for first time since flood damage in August.
Pertti EA7GSU was enjoying a nice cool beer in 30c.
Nate VO1NP had problems hearing anybody and made his report
by landline direct to Jim.  He is OK and sending 73 to all.
 
1800z - 1900z  UK evening 80-metre net on 3,703.
Eleven on the net including John F/G4HMG 2/1 here. Brian G3LUW got him alright.
Conditions good.

I heard you this morning OK then, after I transmitted, I heard nothing.
That was my last transmission till March/April 2006
I am leaving 7 Oct. to the New England states.
Attend District Conference in Lake Placid, NY 14-16 Oct.
Back home late PM 16  Oct. Leaving again 22 Oct. for Brussels and then Holland and other travels.
Back home between mid March - 1 April.
I asked you this morning to ask Don to send me one more copy of the Communicator.
I am giving my copy today to the ladies of the Breast Cancer Dragon Boat Club. Thanks Bill.   (Done)

I came on air at 0630z Sunday.Now after 20 minutes not one signal heard. Just noise !
I understand Henk is away.     73   Bill.
( de g4yze - Thanks Bill.  You might have a better chance about 0730z but still dodgy. 
This net goes back to 0730z - 0830z from 30th October.
I think Henk is in Holland until about 23rd October.)
