Roar Nets September 25 2005

Apologies for my absence on this day.
Conditions fair according to the record.  K-index=1 and Solar Flux 81.

0630z - 0730z  Europe - Anzo Net on 14,293 Long Path.
Many thanks to Klaus HB9CQS for the following report : -
"We missed the G-stations this morning. I did not hear any G's at all, not even a whisper
and not even John, EA/G4HMG. The VKs did not fare any better as far as I could judge.
Here is what happened on the net seen from HB9-land:
0632: Started calling CQ RI net.
0633: Peter, VK3KCD. Steady 55 during most of the net. Peter tried to raise EA/G4HMG.
No success
0635: Pertti, EA7GSU. 57 initially, later increasing to 59 / 59. EA7 - VK3 not possible at
this time, but Pertti later succeeded. Pertti had been to EA9-land with his club and visited
a nursing home.
0640: Bill, VK5CV, 56 initially, 45 when net closed. Not well last Sunday, but now OK.
Good to hear Bill again.
0649: Bill, VK4ZD, 55, but an amazing, solid 59 when net closed. Working on a new
VK2ABQ beam antenna.
0649: Henk, VK2GWK, 56 increasing to 58 after 0700z. Not QRV next Sunday. Antenna down.
0722: Martti, OH6SM, 59+10, beautiful signal. Martti has a new tower and worked VK4ZD.
0731: Net closed
Besides my not so good hearing, I was greatly hampered by QRM during the entire net.
When I have reported R5 above, it really means with QRM permitting.
Hopefully, the absence of all G-station was a once-only event.
73   Klaus, HB9CQS "

Thanks to Jim W1QUO for the following report :-
" Heavy QRM from contest and high noise level made difficult conditions but with the good help
from HB9CQS( Klaus from Sachseln ) coming through most of the time 5x7 to 5x8, we welcomed
CT1BJZ ( Vitor ) together with G0JWE(communicator, editor, Don ) who was able to pull in Pasi
from Kokemaki, OH1TG.  GW4KVJ John, who recounted his recent escapades in Newfoundland.
V01NP was able to make contact with HB9CQS.  Our regrets for those stations we could not read
