Subject: Treasurer
Laszlo,  I find that I must resign from the post of Treasurer at the end of this term.
I have had this post for the last six or seven years and it is time for a younger person take over.
I will work with the new person .
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Multiple responses came forth, most looking for financial re-organisation, principally along the lines
indicated by our ROAR/RIBI
Treasurer Bruce Foxall G0PCF, a retired Bank Manager,  as follows : -
"I think the answer is to have a ROAR Treasurer in the USA who would be responsible for collection
within the USA and Canada. Also to have representatives in the EURO zone and Australia/NZ who
can then account to the USA as the Japanese and I do. That would get in most subs.  73 Bruce G0PCF"

From Laszlo, Greetings to all of you.
You probably received the information that John Cook KK4IX resigned his position as treasurer of ROAR
at the end of this rotary year. John did an excellent job for the last 7 years and should have a well
deserved thank you from all of us.
ROAR is in need of a new treasurer and the idea surfaced to have a treasurer for each area.
That would make it a rather simple to task to monitor the individual members and their contribution.
At this moment our "cash register" is anything but healthy. For your information:
USA & Canada including West Indies & Philippines have 238 members, only 63 have paid up
Japan  has 113 members, 111 paid up,  UK  has 63 members, 55 paid up
Australia & New Zealand  have 71 members,  7 paid up.
Europe  46 members, 9 paid up. Rest of world 33 members, 1 paid up
Total no. of registered members:   564.   Total not paid 246  =  56.4%
It is obvious that no business could survive with this kind of revenues.
Therefore I am suggesting a reorganization of ROAR.
If you know any ROAR member who would volunteer to serve as Area Treasurer contact him/her
and ask to contact me and Secretary Noel VK2IWT.
Please consider this very seriously and act in order to avoid a crash for our beloved Fellowship.
Looking forward to hear from you ASP.

And the latest on this subject from Laszlo,
"For your information. Since we need some drastic changes to avoid a financial disaster I started with the
"reorganization" of ROAR finances and Henk VK2GWK from down under will attack the task (in the Anzo area).
That area is the most delinquent with 90.1 % of the Calls not contributed."  Any comment?  73 Laszlo

"Greetings Henk. (VK2GWK)
Thank you for volunteering for the ANZO treasurer position.
I did not receive any input/OK from the "ROAR Brass" to reorganize ROAR but I take the liberty to do so.
We have a financial problem and some drastic changes are imperative to solve this problem before it becomes too late.
Therefore I am welcoming you as ANZO Regional Treasurer.
A challenging task is waiting for you because in Australia & New Zealand there are 71 Calls in the directory but only
7 members have paid contributions. That is: 90.1 % did not pay their subscription.
No comment is necessary, it speaks for itself.
I am looking forward to working  with you in your capacity as ROAR/ANZO Treasurer and wish you good luck and
enjoyment by doing so.
Yours in ROAR,                Laszlo AD6XX de CT."

(N.B. we still have an urgent requirement for a Treasurer, or Treasurers, in the USA/Canada regions.)
