From John Ellis W5PDW
Thank you for the e-mail. I am still looking forward to my first
check in on one of the nets.
Being a photographer by profession, my weekends are usually pretty
busy with weddings and family portraits.
The 29th of this month is the Tomball Rotary Clubs annual
fundraiser.
We sell meal tickets for some of the best fried catfish in Texas and
600 tickets for $100.00 each.
These tickets all go into small bottles and then into a big tumbler
which they are taken out one
at a time and the name and # is put on a big scoreboard.
The holder of the LAST ticket out will drive home in a restored 1968
Chevy Camero.
I am really excited about making contact with W9R in Chicago.
best regards - john ellis, w5pdw magnolia, texas

From Coos VE2GTI
"Finally some news from me.
Initially the recovery process from the 02 Feb. operation ran
smoothly but 4 weeks ago I developed
a terrible pain in the groin. It appears that a bit of bone from the
thigh bone, a chip, left the main bone
and lodged between the bone and the psoas muscle. This is extremely
painful.
I have heavy physio therapy treatment.
I can now get to the basement to operate my station but is goes
terrifyingly slowly to get down and up.
I lose time and as I can only be on the air for 10 minutes
anyway (because of church) it is not worth the effort.
So we shall have to wait a little longer before matters are back to
normal.
I am now about 3 weeks from a full year cycle (12 May) when all
misery started........Not funny.
All the best and regards to all, Coos, VE2GTI "
