all.
Klaus also in virus trouble, "feeling like a rat that had too little
poison" !!
Brian CO very busy. Battling white ants in the roof. Organising tourist
flights to Wipena to see the great cattle drive assemble there, and still
looking after Joyce. He is doing a great job!
Bill CV in great form. Reminiscing about flying days in New Guinea
alongside
Jim W1QUO. Bill was a Beaufort pilot there while Jim flew B24s,

M1NTO
did not quite make it across the pond today but he is putting up a Cobbweb
antenna this week and we look forward to great results next Sunday.
Klaus reported three inches of snow in the valley, very unusual at this
time.
Bert VE3BGG reported all snow gone and expecting 16c by noon.
Busy gardening, and preparing to go to his summer place and get it ready
for
the usual family assembly there in July/August. It is well north, about
one
hour's drive west of Ottawa. He has a sail-boat, a motor boat and a
fishing
boat on the lake up there. Sounds very inviting Bert !
Chairman Laszlo is still very anxious to find a volunteer for the post of
Treasurer
in the North America regions to co-ordinate Roar finances.

Hi Bill and just to bring you up to date, we are back on the airwaves but
only with a 40/80
inverted Vee. I will try and tune it up on 20 and see if we can get some
action. We are trying
to get another residence to suit and then Val has a nasty heart attack and
upsets the applecart,
so I then get bitten by a white tailed spider with a bum full of poison
and put me back in the
white house for 5 weeks. But as there must be someone looking after us, we
are both in pretty
good nick. So both of us have to take it easier but a new home is still on
the agenda I do enjoy
getting the ROAR news letter every week and will endeavour to get back in
touch as soon as
possible. Our best regards to all from Gisborne the Golden NZ - Sam & Val

Dear
John,
I was very pleased to learn thru Bill Learmonth G4YZE of your interest in
ROAR.
I noticed in our latest ROAR Fellowship Directory that you are not a
member of our fellowship.
I would be great to have another Texan in ROAR. Let me know. I am the
trustee for W9R
and will be pleased to work you from the convention in June. It would be
better yet to sign you
up to be an operator of the station. Fb on belonging to the RC of
Tomball.
My eldest daughter and her family live near the Willowbrook Mall in
Houston.
In fact I will be visiting her 4/17-20. When does your club meet?
I will be in Chicago setting up our station on 6/17 to begin operating
6/18.
Go to
www.ecrv4711.org to see the station we will be operating.
Since I spent several years in the Chicago area I was able to connect with
some local friends
(hams) who put me in touch with the Chicago Chapter of the ARC and
subsequently able to
negotiate use of this vehicle for our use. By the way, the Houston
Chapter of the ARC has a
similar unit housed there. Nice to know you are in Texas. I hope to c u on
the air.
Let me know about joining ROAR. We would love to have you.
You can join our Sunday (US Net) on 14,288 at 1800utc. We usually have
about 6 or so join in.
Look for W1QUO Jim who is NCS for 4/10. 73 John Maier W8AUV
